Cookie Policy

8 May 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how DigiCard EOOD ('Ascend', 'we', 'our') uses cookies and similar storage technologies on ascend.bg. By continuing to use this site after accepting via our consent banner, you agree to this use.

2. What We Use — and What We Don't

Ascend uses two analytics tools, both gated behind your explicit consent. Without your consent, neither one loads.

Vercel Analytics — privacy-first and cookieless. It collects anonymous aggregate data (pages visited, country, device type) without placing any cookies on your device.

Google Analytics 4 — sets cookies (typically '_ga' and '_ga_Q4VM2NW4HH') that distinguish unique visitors and track sessions so we can understand how the site is used. We have configured GA4 with Google Signals disabled and ad personalization signals disabled to minimise data sent to Google.

We also store one functional item in your browser's localStorage: your cookie consent preference (the 'cookie-consent' key). This is strictly functional — it remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics so we don't ask again on every visit.

We do not use third-party marketing, advertising, or social-platform tracking cookies.

3. Purposes

Analytics (Vercel Analytics + Google Analytics 4): To understand how visitors use our site so we can improve content, navigation, and performance.

Consent memory (localStorage): To remember your privacy preference so the consent banner does not appear on every page load.

4. Third Parties

Vercel Analytics data is processed by Vercel Inc. under their Privacy Policy. Google Analytics 4 data is processed by Google Ireland Limited (and Google LLC in the United States) under Google's Privacy Policy; transfers to the United States rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. No data is shared with advertising networks, social platforms, or data brokers.

5. Retention

localStorage entries persist until you clear your browser storage or revoke consent via the banner. Vercel Analytics retains anonymous aggregate data for up to 12 months. Google Analytics 4 cookies have a default lifetime of up to 2 years; we have configured the GA4 property to retain user-level data for 14 months.

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR and Bulgarian data protection law you have the right to: access the data held about you, request erasure, and withdraw consent at any time. To withdraw consent, clear your browser's localStorage or use your browser's privacy controls.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) at www.cpdp.bg.

7. How to Manage or Withdraw Consent

You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing localStorage in your browser's developer tools or by using your browser's 'Clear site data' option. After clearing, the consent banner will reappear on your next visit.

Most modern browsers also allow you to block or delete localStorage entries per site via their privacy or developer settings.
